Have you ever wondered how beekeepers know which flowers their bees have been visiting?
Taking the huge and unexpected variety of pollen colours as her inspiration, Clare Wilkes has created a quilt of embroidered flowers, each flower surrounded by patches in the colour of its pollen. The patches are, of course, hexagonal, to represent the bees’ honeycomb.
Come and learn more about bees and pollen, have a go at English Paper Piecing or other patchwork techniques and take away your own piece of pollen patchwork
