How did people treat illness and live healthily many centuries ago? How was the body thought to function? And who studied and practised medicine? Illuminated by medieval manuscripts from libraries across Cambridge, this exhibition explores a complex and intriguing world of bodily humours, herbal recipes, ritual healing, star-gazing and surgery.

'Curious Cures: Medicine in the Medieval World' is open six days a week from Saturday 29th March until Saturday 6th December 2025. Booking is essential, tickets are completely free! Join us for a special after-hours event on Thursday 27th March and be one of the first to see this new exhibition.
