Everyone wants to enjoy life to the fullest and feel motivated and energized to reach our potential in our jobs and personal lives. We also would like to contribute to society in a meaningful way. However, surveys show that our New Year's Resolution lists are mostly about getting more physically fit or losing weight, and thoughts about improving our mental health and wellbeing are low on these lists. Similarly, while people monitor their physical health, such as steps and heart rate through devices, they rarely monitor their cognitive health and wellbeing.
The event will feature a talk by Professor Barbara J Sahakian and Dr Christelle Langley authors of Brain Boost: Healthy Habits for a Happier Life, from the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge and Clare Hall. They will discuss the evidence of how healthy lifestyle habits, including exercise, nutrition, social connections, and acts of kindness, profoundly impact brain health, cognition and emotional wellbeing. Come and discover the science-backed tips and practical strategies to sharpen cognition, enhance mood, reduce stress and foster resilience, ultimately helping you to lead a happier, healthier life. Following the talk, there will be time for questions and discussions with the audience.
