This session will be led by Dr. Fatemeh Torabi, Assistant Professor of Health Data Science at the Institute of Continuing Education. Fatemeh is an Assistant Professor in Healthcare Data, she is also a senior researcher at Dementias Platform UK with strong foundation in mathematical statistics and health data science. She holds an undergraduate degree in statistics, complemented by two Master of Science degrees, in Mathematical Statistics and in Health Data Science. Subsequently, the focus of her doctoral research was on, AI and machine learning approaches for risk prediction in patients with atrial fibrillation. With a track record of over 12 years in the field of health data research, Fatemeh has been actively engaged in the design, analysis, and implementation of both national and international projects. Her work primarily centres on big data in healthcare. Fatemeh maintains an enduring passion for advancing healthcare delivery and improving patient care through the strategic utilisation of health data. Her research portfolio extends to the development of cutting-edge methodologies and advanced analytical techniques. Beyond her research endeavours, Fatemeh is passionately dedicated to education and mentorship, with a particular focus on postgraduate courses. Drawing on her expertise in data science, analytics, and computational methods, she actively contributes to bring research to the heart of teaching and using current practices for improving population health through her teaching and instructional initiatives.
