Cambridge Arts Picturehouse, 38-39 St Andrew's Street, CB2 3AR
Join the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre for an exciting and thought-provoking evening with the new Women+s Cancers Programme and the Breast Cancer Virtual Institute. This is your chance to be part of a pivotal moment in cancer research, where we’re shaping the future of treatment and support for all women, including trans and non-binary people.
The event will kick off with a special screening of the short film ‘Trans Dudes with Lady Cancer’, a powerful and intimate documentary that follows the journeys of two transmasculine individuals navigating breast cancer and ovarian cancer within the US medical system. Through their stories, the film sheds light on the unique challenges faced by transgender and gender-diverse people in accessing appropriate care, and the resilience of their families and communities.
Following the film, we’ll host a lively panel discussion featuring the filmmakers, patients, and leading researchers in the field of women’s cancers. This will be an opportunity to hear directly from those at the forefront of both lived experience and cutting-edge research into breast and gynaecological cancers, and to learn more about how the new Women+s Cancers Programme will push boundaries in this important area.
The evening will conclude with nibbles and networking – a chance to connect with others passionate about advancing research, support, and education around women’s cancers.
Don’t miss out on this important event that promises to inspire, inform, and energise the conversation about inclusive cancer care.
