Habitats across timescales - excursion to the Cherry Hinton Chalk Pits

We will venture into the Cherry Hinton Chalk pits to see how nature is quickly reclaiming the abandoned quarries over human timescales. We will also look into the chalk rocks to understand how they were formed in an ancient ocean, and discuss how the area changes from ocean to land over millions of years.
